ARXTEC: AI-Powered Construction Dashboard
Role: Researcher + Designer on Team BuildAI
Timeline: 3 Weeks
Year: 2025
Tools: Figma, Canva, Midjourney, ChatGPT
The Challenge
Our team analyzed the home-construction process and found that most delays and cost overruns come from miscommunication between homeowners, contractors, suppliers, and permit offices. We needed to design a message that clearly shows the problem and introduces an AI dashboard as a way to streamline updates and reduce confusion.
The Process
We examined how information moves through the construction system and identified major breakdowns — stalled permits, missed updates, inaccurate estimates, and fragmented channels. This helped us define the core message and the audience.
We created a storyboard that contrasts the chaotic current system with an AI-supported version. The visuals combine statistics, system loops, and high-energy sequences to highlight urgency while positioning AI as a central communication hub.
Each team member contributed to research, visuals, and iteration. I helped develop the system analysis, refine the message, and build the visual narrative. After critique, we slowed the pacing and added clearer context before introducing the solution.
The solution
Our final motion piece shows how an AI dashboard could unify permits, scheduling, materials, and site updates. The video moves from confusion to clarity, illustrating smoother communication and fewer delays once the system is centralized.
What I Learned
I learned how to convert a complex system into a simple message, how pacing affects clarity, and how AI tools support both ideation and visualization. This project strengthened my ability to collaborate, simplify information, and communicate problems through motion.
